Announcing: Electronic Shift Roster
ApplyIT is pleased to announce the addition of Shift Roster functionality to Operations Suite. This planning tool has been designed to address issues that many of our customers face, including:
· Ensuring that there is adequate coverage for shift positions – especially when planning leave
· Maintaining a set of “fall back” rosters for situations where a position is short-staffed
· Making certain that the people being allocated to positions are suitably qualified
· Keeping a record of what persons were on shift at what time
Most of our clients manage their Shift Rosters in Excel. However, these spreadsheets are often difficult to control and provide limited planning or reporting capabilities. If the spreadsheets have more sophisticated macros or formulas, they tend to depend on specific individuals to maintain them.
The screens used to maintain the Operations Suite Shift Roster are rich in functionality and dynamic in nature. This is possible because the software has been built using Microsoft’s Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) technology. Colour-coding makes it easy to see where shift coverage is not adequate, and to rapidly rectify the situation by allocating alternative resources or changing the shift pattern. Users may access the shift roster information via summary and detail reports, as well as an integrated calendar view that includes information from the Standby Roster.
The software is currently in “limited release” with early adopters, and will be available for general release in Q2 2010.
