ApplyIT celebrated their 10th birthday with a stylish cocktail party on the 20th November 2009.
We decided to go back to our roots for this milestone event and chose the Weaver Function Centre as it is close to the Umbogintwini Industrial complex where ApplyIT first started, and close to many of our long standing customers.
Staff, customers, associates and friends of ApplyIT arrived in the late afternoon to a warm welcome and a cocktail. After meeting and greeting in the bar area, the guests were ushered through to the main event. Here they were welcomed into an elegantly enchanting room of soft blue tones, exquisite lighting, mist and music – a true sensory experience!
The formal proceedings then began with a high impact audio-visual presentation summarising the 10 year history and story of ApplyIT – where we came from and where we are going. This was followed by a presentation by Gavin Halse (Managing Director) and Scott Bredin (Product Manager), both of whom were taken by surprise by the presentation of a well-earned 10 year service award!
The rest of the evening was informal and festive as guests relaxed and caught up with old friends and colleagues, while enjoying cocktail snacks and drinks and being entertained by well-known South African jazz guitarist Madala Kunene. The cutting of a beautifully presented and delicious birthday cake, accompanied by a decadent chocolate fountain rounded up a thoroughly enjoyable and classy evening.
It was an occasion to remember as both a show of gratitude to our loyal customers who have supported our growth, and a tribute to the amazing, talented people of ApplyIT. We recognise each and every team member, customer and associate as being a vital part of our story - we would not be who we are or where we are today without you!
